Johannes Merkler

I'm an architect, Project/Construction Manager with over 30 years of experience with managing design and construction. The expertise spans institution, higher education, commercial and retail projects and facilities. I've managed the design and 'roll out' of large entertainment retail centers (over 2m sq ft/186k sm) to Nokia stores (1000sf/93sm), $400m BioPharma plants to $40m wet lab biological research facilities, $25m hotel renovation to $1m specialty construction with significant California Coastal entitlement requirements. I've worked in both large and small firms, private and large public corporations. As Operations Director Faithful+Gould, the international construction consultancy, I was responsible for developing and leading the PM/CM services in California and Western US region. In addition to my design management skills, I have extensive experience with Value Management, Risk Management and Cost Controls. With my well honed skill sets and character and values, I can provide a significant contribution to building a successful organization. The collaborative team approach, mentoring and quality assurance best practices have been the hallmark of my career. At Faithful+Gould my roles and responsibilities included corporate strategic and tactical planning with both national and international colleagues, along with line-responsibility for successfully completing hospitality, institutional and commercial projects in the US and overseas. My goal is to grow an organization by leading teams in developing sustainable, high quality design and manage the stakeholder values and expectations. Leading the construction by managing both budget and schedule for success. Travel or relocation will not be an issue. My website has more detailed information on my career highlights.
